[ the only reason evan's not already ash on the ground is because of the traps. both of those fucked-up legs are caught, and so is one arm that managed to get two. it keeps tripping over itself no matter how it twists and turns. but the one arm free has an axe that it keeps swinging at his head.
david's voice catches him by surprise and it's only because the bigger threat is in front of him that he doesn't turn. he's pissed about it all, though. david's not supposed to be able to sneak up on him. ]
