[ well he can't say it's not a relief that evan doesn't actually break his hand — the way he immediately tensed up when he grabbed his wrist is proof enough he was bracing himself for it — but that doesn't mean david's about to express any gratitude. he pulls first, trying unsuccessfully to get his hand out from under evan's knee, and when that doesn't work he flexes his fingers. stretches them out and makes a quiet noise, a 'hm' that could be a little judgemental. but just a little. ]
