[ it takes some time for david to realise evan's gone, and something about that pisses him off even more. he was expecting evan to be a dickhead in one way or another — gloat about getting him down, snap at him for having an attitude after all that — but getting nothing feels like such an insult on top of everything that david could actually scream. he feels like he's going crazy, but really how is that different to any other day out here. ]
[ evan getting called off to trial means david has some time to rest up properly at least. he's desperately tired, but he'd rather stuff himself in that furnace than sleep here right now. ]
[ david takes his time, but unless evan has a freakishly quick trial he'll be gone by the time he's back. the workshop gets left as it was, but there's definitely a few smashed up traps — admittedly though, that's a case of david losing his temper at having to deal with them at all than it is specifically about getting back at evan. (not that he'll know it.) one even seems to get thrown a decent distance, blood on the teeth meaning david didn't come away from that one unscathed. ]
[ maybe he should just stop coming out here. stop talking to evan. stop all of this if he's just gonna keep coming away from it feeling like a lunatic. it's not like this is the only thing that's got under his skin, because ultimately theres a decent number of things that he doesn't like about the way whatever this situation is makes him feel. this is just the biggest one. ]
