[ david grunts in complaint at the way evan tugs his head back, even if he accepts it as an exchange for the mouth at his throat. he'd rather not be manhandled so much, most of the time anyway, but he knows evan well enough by now. he's probably more restrained that way with david than he is with other people, which is a small victory — that he's gotten him to adjust his approach this much — but he'll take it. even the little wins are few and far between out here. ]

[ the hand on him is... confusing. not that david ever really needs the help, he's easy at the best of times, but it's not doing much of anything. ]

[ it's not exactly easy for david to be patient right now; this wasn't on his mind when he came out here, but now there's a sense of urgency buzzing around in the back of his mind, one he's trying to hold back so evan doesn't get smug about it. it's just been a while, he's allowed to be eager. ]

C'mon...

[ he has to cut himself off from calling him chuck seeing as he's not interested in being kicked out right now, but david punctuates by hooking his fingers in the sides of evan's waders to give them a tug. if he was naked, david could at least do something, get hands on him somehow. something other than sitting here and just taking whatever evan chooses to give him. ]

[ he almost, almost tries to make david beg. almost tells him to do it. the words are just about on his tongue when those fragments of self-control weigh in and stop him, because they know, if nothing else, that david will kick him right in the dick and storm out if he tries that.

it's hard enough to do with even the other survivors, who don't have david's determination to be the biggest pain in his ass possible, or at least the dedication to actually do it. still. the idea lingers.

instead he strokes him, lets go of his hair to reach up and undo the buckles on his waders. first the one attached to the hook, then the one over his shoulder. always that order to avoid the pain of the metal dragging through his muscles and bones. ]

[ he hears the clinks and scrapes of metal that tell him evan's undoing his waders, and david moves his hands to help. gravity will do most of the work, he knows, but david makes sure to reach down enough to shove them off evan's hips so they'll go the rest of the way. ]

[ he'd never verbally admit he missed this, any of this, but it's probably obvious regardless. the way his hands immediately find evan's stomach and push up along his body, fingers spreading out over his ribs, feeling out the rough skin and scars and whatever else. up to his chest where david always thinks he can feel that heat of his hotter than any other part of him. no idea if that's actually the case, but david believes it regardless. ]

[ surprises himself a little, not immediately hoing for evan's cock, but it helps that he knows evan's like him — he never really needs much help there. it's probably more for david's own satisfaction most of the time than it is ever for evan. ]

[ touch doesn't get through to him as much as other people, thanks to years of minework and injuries and being here, but he does still feel it. the pressure, the sparks of pleasure when it's not the obvious injuries david's feeling out, the sensation of something almost like cold against his perpetual heat.

he makes a small noise against david's touch but keeps himself otherwise focused on leaving bruises along david's neck and shoulder, keeping his hand moving, letting the other one roam. it doesn't occur to him for a little while that there's something else he needs if this is going to go anywhere, but it's on another workbench and he doesn't really want to separate them just yet.

it's fine. there's time. david's just about wrapped around him anyway. hasn't gone for his dick yet, so he's not that eager to get started. slow burn. it doesn't occur to evan that maybe just this might be a draw for david - not just as a survivor, but at all. ]

[ just about wrapped around him is probably the best way to put it, one of his hands moving up to evan's neck, the other around to his back, pulling him in as if there's much closer he can get. he keeps his head tilted for evan, starting to let out quiet, breathy noises. ]

[ that's what starts to tip him over, back to that sense of urgency, the hand on evan's back coming back, dragging over his hip around to find his cock. he also isn't thinking about what they need to progress, just that he wants to, far more focused on right now. takes evan and strokes him in a firm grip. ]

[ the suddenness of it makes him hiss - and groan, too, because this is what they're here for, isn't it? he lets david have free rein over that for now, given that he doesn't want to take his own hands off david to try and corral him.

it doesn't take long before he's hard, since he was halfway there by the time david got a hand on him anyway. that's about when he finally has to try and pull himself back, get a grip on this. his mouth pulls back from david's neck but doesn't go very far, staying close enough that david can hear him even though he's speaking rough and quiet. ]

[ it could be feasible, but he's not really interested in risking finding out right now. ]

[ instinctively david turns his head when evan starts to pull back, seeking out his face because, now david thinks about it, he hasn't had a single kiss yet? he knows evan's not a big kisser, but david is, so honestly it's pretty rude of him. he's busy with that line of thought until evan speaks, and then he pauses, considering it for all of a fraction of a moment. ]

[ he snorts, dismissing the idea, and reluctantly moves his hands so he's not holding on to evan anymore. one resting at his hip, the other coming back to his chest. evan might be willing to give it a go some time, but it's not his ass, and david already has such a hard time adjusting sometimes that he's pretty sure he'd honestly prefer it if evan grabbed his cleaver and started attacking him than trying to take him dry. ]

[ he does give evan's chest a shameless little squeeze while his hand's there though. ]

[ even let go, there's the issue of having his waders around his ankles. fortunately, the other workbench isn't far; he only has to take a step and reach a little to get to the right drawer, with the right stuff in it instead of a spur-of-the-moment grab. it is slightly awkward, though. that kind of irritates him.

the grip before he reaches makes him raise an eyebrow at david, not exactly angry but more questioning. not that he expects an answer. david's big on touching - which, in fairness, evan is too under circumstances like these. it just doesn't usually get returned that aggressively.

once he's got it he's back like they never separated. he can uncap the stuff one-handed by this time, letting his other hand make its way up david's thigh to his hip, his stomach, over the muscles and bones again. avoiding the injuries, though, since he can see them this time. angry but not bloody. just ... there, even though they shouldn't be. ]

[ david doesn't even note the awkward movements, who hasn't had an awkward couple moments trying to grab stuff in the heat of things? besides which, david's fairly occupied with his hands still on evan, a quietly satisfied noise slipping out when he gives evan's chest another squeeze, as if assessing something and finding the answer pleasing. ]

[ he takes the opportunity too, while evan's momentarily busy, to lean in and dip his head to return the favour. grazes his teeth along the line of evan's jaw and down the side of his neck until he bites the curve just where it meets his shoulder. kisses the skin to soothe it a little between bites, intent to leave at least one that'll last longer than maybe an hour if he's lucky. ]

[ the constant touch and the biting isn't bad. he doesn't argue or snarl or try to push david off. not even because he's distantly aware that david would probably fight back against that or just leave, but because even if he can only feel so much of it, it is nice. the sensations and the idea that someone's just as into him.

he brushes off the injuries, gets enough of the oil on his hand to work, drops the container on the worktable and reaches down between david's legs to slip two fingers into him. the longer they do this, the less he has to guess or be cautious. he knows what david can deal with by now. know what david wants out of this. it means he can focus less on doing that and more on the rest of him. where he can move his hand, ragged nails avoiding injuries to drag down david's chest, and where he can get his mouth while david returns the favor.

easy enough to get him ready when he's willing to work with evan. the whole thing eases some of the irritation and rage that always simmers inside him, even during this, because there's always something pissing him off. ]

[ it's been a while, and that doesn't mean he needs evan to ease up or slow down, but he does have to pause just to remind himself how this all works. takes a breath against evan's neck where he bites again when the moment passes. ]

[ he's not really aware of his injuries, the persistent ache is so normal to him at this point that sometimes it just feels like part of being in the fog. right now it's far away in the back of his mind, especially with evan taking care to avoid them, david's awareness is focused in on the sensation of nails on his skin, something he instinctively arches into. ]

[ at the same time, he shifts a little on the workbench, the same way he always does when it's like this, trying to give evan a little more space without compromising on physical contact. david is and has always been extremely tactile and, despite the fact he sometimes seems a little surprised or confused by it, evan seems to respond well to it, so he sees no reason to restrain himself there. fingers digging in a little where his hand is at evan's hip, the other pushing up until it finds the back of his head. ]

[ now that they've done this enough, david doesn't hesitate. the pause to get a grip is nothing evan hasn't seen before. it's different from the first time they did this, when he could feel the tension, the readiness to snap. but there's always something keeping people alert when he gets involved. always the fear that this might go wrong until he proves it won't.

he's takes a little more time than usual with david, feeling the touch, the grip moving to the back of his head, holding him in place as if he's the one about to back off. as if david's ready to keep him from going anywhere - as if he would. there's reasons he'd break this off midway, but they're few, far between, and unlikely to happen. at the moment.

when he figures he's done enough he pulls his hand free and gets a little more of the oil on his fingers so that he can get some on himself. it's not always necessary, but it doesn't hurt. the opposite, actually.

but that doesn't take long and he's quick to get that now-freed hand under one of david's knees, pushing it up, getting himself the room he needs to press in without any real warning or hesitation. not hard or brutal or violent. he just knows david's more than ready and doesn't need the caution some others might. ]

[ at this point, david's more than familiar enough with evan to know what to expect. he's thorough, but he's impatient, makes sure the job's done but isn't one to tease or work his way in slower than necessary. which is fine by david, it's never more than he can take. even when it hurts, it's better than it isn't. he'd chalk it up to luck if evan wasn't extremely consistent that way. ]

[ he can't say he really noticed evan taking more time, but david definitely notices there's less of that initial burn than he's used to, though he still grunts in discomfort against evan's neck at that initial press followed by another breath to help him adjust to the sensation of being full this way. it still registers to his mind as a little weird, even after all this time, but it also crests over into something good faster than it used to. ]

[ there's little changes, over the time they've done this. that david adjusts quicker, meaning evan doesn't have to wait as long, or even really wait at all. doesn't have to make sure one way or another that david's even ready to deal with this, because there'd be a hand at his throat if there was a problem.

so there's a short wait, a handful of seconds, before he gets moving. one hand still under david's knee and the other at his chest. he moves that hand, knowing the drag of nails is something david wants and gets that in places that aren't riddled with some kind of perpetual injury. around his hip to his back, where he's a little more cautious since he can't see the wounds there. at his lower back. against the other hip, as far as he can reach.

and the teeth at his neck don't leave, something he doesn't quite have the angle to return here but doesn't pull away from anyway. eventually david's not going to have the focus to do it. ]

[ david breathes a low, pleased noise when evan starts to move, arches subtly into his touch. lets his hand drift down from the back of evan's head to his neck where he can scrape his fingernails, lightly dig his fingers in without much resistance. ]

[ he tilts his head, biting at the skin just below the corner of evan's jaw, again just below his ear. harder, to make extra sure it leaves a mark. part of him determined to leave his marks where they'll be seen, though he supposes nobody's really going to be looking. ]

[ the skin at his throat has less burns and ruin than the rest of him, which means he can feel more of what david's doing. he's got an idea of what the intent is. the marks will linger for a while, about as long as any he leaves on david, but it'll take more effort to get them there in the first place. too many years underground. too many years killing. and then his time here, if time ever mattered here.

he lets his instincts keep and adjust the pace as they go. letting the hunger, perpetual as it is even if he's got a good leash on it, dictate this. it's not just what he wants, either; whatever david does, how he ends up reacting, drives that too.

there's parallels there to how he kills, but the less he thinks about that right now, the better.

for now he can let himself half-focus on not hitting the injuries as he rakes his own nails across david's skin, trying to avoid anything on his back. the grip under david's knee squeezes briefly and then he lets go, more carefully, so he can get that hand going too. ]

[ david flinches when evan's fingers trip over an injury on his back, but as sharp as the pain is, it's not enough to pull him out of this. he moans softly against evan's throat, ducking once he's satisfied with his work to try and find evan's face and draw him into a kiss. ]

[ when evan lets go of his leg, david hitches it at his hip, wraps it around him enough to give himself some stability. leverage to be able to pull himself in and rock his hips to move with evan. the hand he has at his hip he pushes around to his lower back, nails dragging against his skin as he feels him out, the familiar roughness of his skin, the way his muscles flex when he moves. he would've thought he'd be bored of this by now, but instead david finds himself craving that touch almost as much as any other part of this. ]

[ the kissing is still just slightly unusual for evan - but he doesn't fight it. not at this point. it's clearly something david wants out of this, and it keeps him from the usual insults and obnoxious comments. he's about the only one who gets it. for everyone else, at least so far, it's too close to actual intimacy. at least, that's what he assumes, in less particular words.

now it's like nothing ever changed. like there was never any argument or fight over the stupid rope, which he's still annoyed david took so much issue with but isn't going to bring up now. because david's just about wrapped around him and he's got both hands on him in turn. the kiss is half biting, no blood, just the roughness that gets into everything they do, because god forbid he not let the violence bleed into his entire existence.

then again, nobody's ever complained. not even david. so he drags his nails over his back, his hips, his chest, gets one hand back up in david's hair, fingers curling in the strands where they can, keeping his head in place as he eventually breaks off the kiss to go right back to leaving livid marks on his neck and shoulders without ever slowing the pace of everything else. ]

[ david would probably laugh if evan ever told him his thoughts on kissing — it's not like there's anything particularly intimate about the way they do it, all teeth and half-restrained violence. in david's mind it's just something that he enjoys, something that heightens the pleasure just a little. he certainly wouldn't be looking for intimacy from evan of all people anyway. ]

[ in that vein, he's a little disappointed when evan pulls away, ducks his head again to try and chase his lips, buf he can't catch him before evan's back at his throat. david curses sharply, head tilted with the pull of evan's hand in his haiir, there's nowhere to hide the way his voice picks up with the mouth at his throat.

[ different things get different people, and this is one of david's weaker points. evan assumes it's all sensation. some people get off on the power of it, the relinquishing of control, but that doesn't seem like david. given everything else he does, and everything else that gets him going, evan's almost dead certain it's the combination of pain and pleasure that david wants.

so he gives it to him. the cursing that turns into something else, words vanishing as he finds either unmarked skin to go after or the fresher marks to layer another bite on top of. he gets his free arm around david's lower back to try and pull him in as if they can get any closer, or as if david might try to leave. it doesn't give him any more control over the speed than he already has, but it feels right. instinctive. keeping them in place, getting more of his skin on david as he picks up the pace without really noticing it. ]

[ something about the combination of evan pulling him in, the faster pace, and the mouth on-- on wherever evan finds completely overwhelms him for a long moment. he clutches evan tightly, fingers digging in where he's holding evan hard enough they'd leave nasty bruises on someone with normal skin. a weak, desperate noise slips out that he'd be absolutely fucking mortified by if he was aware of it at all, but luckily david's really not aware of anything except what he can feel right now. ]

[ he curses again — sharper, harsher — rough nails raking down evan's back with a lot less care for wounds and shrapnel and whatever else than david usually shows. if it hurts either of them, right now it'd likely just be a bright spark intensifying it all anyway. ]

[ that's what he was looking for. not a total loss of self-control but it's shredding. falling apart under the onslaught. evan doubles down, or at least makes an attempt since there's not a whole hell of a lot of room to do so. his hand in david's hair pulls his head back a little further; he moves to leave a mark up closer to his jaw, almost as his ear; the other hand digs fingers and nails into david's hip; and he doesn't really speed up but he goes harder with every thrust. again, as best he can. they're already this close and caught up. hard to make it better where they are.

he could get a hand around david, but he doesn't. that's deliberate. david could, but then he'd have to let evan go in turn.

maybe a different time - nah. better not to think about that now. he doesn't usually plan for the future. there's not a point here. they tend to do this on impulse, with whatever's around. planning suggests a regularity. consistency. wouldn't work for them. ]

[ david would much rather have his hands on evan than sacrifice that contact to get one on himself. it's not like he needs it anyway, a fact that still manages to surprise and confuse david if he lets himself think about it. mostly he opts not to. ]

[ part of him resents how well evan's got his fucking number, probably always will. even through the haze of sensation that has him a gasping, moaning wreck, part of him is still pissed about it. simmering deep under everything while david clutches at evan, hand returning to the back of his head to hold him there, as if evan needs the encouragement.

[ it gets easy to lose himself - and lose control - in this. especially being able to hear, clearly, the effect this is having. he used to think he'd never find an upside in the ability of some survivors to constantly run their fucking mouth, but time told him otherwise. david's never been the type to shut up, and that carries into this. funny how things work out.

that self-control is starting to give way now, though. he's pretty sure he can outlast david but one of these days that's not going to be true. the bites get harder, closer to breaking skin. his grip tightens, nails digging in where they can. he'd say something, but that would mean he'd have to let go briefly, focus, try to get words out ... and besides, at this point, anything he'd say would just break the intensity. he's sure it'd be enough to sabotage this. ]

[ david could restrain himself, (or at least he likes to think he could,) but why would he? at a basic level, it feels good to let himself be this vocal, but he knows evan gets off on that shit too. ]

[ it doesn't take much more to push him over. david grits his teeth on a breathless almost-- between moans, the harder bites making him grip harder at the back of evan's head, the hand on his back digging into his skin as if he wants to rip chunks out of it. as if the skin to skin contact isn't enough and he would bury himself in evan's flesh if he could. ]

[ it doesn't take much more to push him over, the tension in him snapping suddenly, thighs clamping at evan's sides, squeezing and pulling him in as he comes. ]
