[ it's more than encouragement enough. any concerns or uncertainty wholly banished, evan doesn't stop, teeth scraping at david's skin or biting down wherever they can find room. not just on his neck but on his collarbone, shoulder, anywhere he can reach that gets a reaction. and they all do, it seems like.
his grip tightens. no, this time he's not going to outlast david, because he was ready for this before david was. the ropes put him ahead. he'd be madder about it if he could focus.
everything builds up. the heat and friction and the lack of tension, the sound of david's voice this close to him, the way he's trying to get as much as he can even without being able to hold on. evan slams into him one final time and stops, hilted, as he comes, barely making a sound and only just avoiding biting david for real. his grip on david's leg is bruisingly tight, and the other tears a hole in the bedsheet. not the first one, and it's not going to be the last.
he manages to get hold of himself relatively quickly afterward, but there's still a period of silence and stillness and rock-hard tension where he's lost, practically pinning david in place. ]
[ the bites do almost as much as anything else to push david on; the way he's been refusing to look at evan almost a benefit as it keeps that whole length of skin open and exposed like freshly primed canvas. ]
[ he is so, so close. later maybe he'll be a little shocked by the quick turnaround, but at the moment that is far from his mind. the tension in him coils tight, has him almost at that messy, desperate need and then - nothing. ]
[ no-- not quite nothing, but it takes a moment for the haze to clear enough for david to process the situation fully. normally david's a gracious partner, gives the person he's with time at least to come down a little before worrying about his own end, but that's not a courtesy he has any interest in extending to evan. not under normal circumstances, and definitely not right now. immediately he pushes against evan's grip on his thigh, rocks his hips what little bit he can in this position. if he had his hands free he'd simply take care of it without any fuss, but, well. some big shot decided to prevent that. ]
[ it doesn't take long for david to get on his case, even as evan's still trying to come back into himself. under a lot of circumstances, he wouldn't bother helping david finish; ultimately he's a very selfish person. but their ... relationship? ... has become something different than the usual predator-prey one he's used to, and in a situation like this, he generally doesn't leave the other party unfinished. Most often because he's the one to outlast them, so it doesn't come up.
even for him, overstimulation is a thing, but he's got a lot more tolerance for it than a normal person would. he can ignore the discomfort for a little while. so once he's got a grip he picks up the pace again - not as hard as before, because it's not the same, but it should be enough for david, whose insistent unspoken demands haven't stopped.
he could just get a hand on him, but that would defeat the purpose of the ropes. once he's got at least a slightly more manageable rhythm, he bites down again, on an already-bruised spot. making sure it hurts just as much as it doesn't. ]

[ unfortunately if evan expected that to calm david down in any way, he'd be very wrong. he doesn't sit in the afterglow like he usually does, doesn't even really give himself enough time to come down before he's moving again, trying to pull his leg from evan's grip and shift back on the bed to get out from under him. halfway ready to start kicking again if evan doesn't get off him fast enough. ]
[ he was expecting it, actually. that david had burned out enough energy to relax, at least for a few minutes, so evan could get up and get ready for a fight and cut him loose without instantly dealing with a fist to the jaw.
but apparently that's not the case, because david's trying to get away almost immediately. evan growls against his neck but gives way, pushing back, letting him go and pulling out less considerately than he might have otherwise. he's ready for a kick if one comes, at least to catch it if not return the hit. ]

[ one word, half a growl, half a command. he climbs off the bed ideally before a heel hits him to get his waders, pulling them back on first, notably before even considering untying david. ]
[ the fury from before comes crashing back in at full force, no care at all for the aches across his body or the way his legs are weak from all that as he pushes himself up onto his knees, shifts to get off the bed and follow evan. really only angrier for the fact that he decided to get dressed before anything. ]
[ evan gives david a long, flat stare at that comment, but doesn't respond. not right away. he finishes pulling the waders back on and considers getting his boots back on, too, before he bothers with david. but david's already aiming to get off the bed and he's got half a mind to let him and watch him slam into the floor when his legs give out. if they give out.
after a few seconds he approaches again, gets david by the upper arm and shoves him back around before he can get off. the idea of leaving him tied up only briefly occurs to him, but that'll just make his life more irritating. with one hand he keeps david at least partly in place - not that it'll help if david starts to swing - and with the other he works the knot free.
and that's all he does, because he knows what's coming next and backs off. david can unwind the ropes himself. even in the dim lighting, evan can see the ropeburns and bruises-to-be around his arms. the signs of a furious struggle. ]

if he was yelling, fighting, throwing a fit, that would be normal. understandable. but the absolute silence and refusal to even try and attack him makes evan's formerly-banished thoughts come floating back to the surface. he knows rage in all its forms, and knows that someone prone to explosion is twice as deadly when they've gone quiet like this. it's something he does. seeing it in david is new.
he lets him leave without a word or trying to drag him back. he doesn't even follow him into the workshop right away, instead picking up the rope from where it fell and coiling it back up.
