his attempt is to get david's arms behind his back and keep them there with the rope. he's not bad with knots, but there's a difference between tying up a dead or unconscious body and trying to tie down someone very much alive, awake, and furious. ]

[ until he feels the slide of the rope against his skin anyway, and then david's back to straining against evan's hold, snarling and swearing as he bucks, tries to pull his arms free, stop evan from binding his arms. anything to stop evan tying him up. ]
[ he's only got a few chances here. david's strong enough to force him off if he's not fast, and given the circumstances, he doesn't actually want to hurt him bad enough to end this quickly.
evan tries to work david's arms so he can get them crossed against his back, and then get both wrists in one hand of his own. it'll be just about enough to free up his other hand to get the rope started, wound tight around david's forearms. keeping him restrained without cutting off circulation or cutting into his skin. but it's difficult, because david's trying everything he can to get free.
if he can just get it wound tight enough once or twice, he can free up both hands to tie him up properly. it'll cost him - he's sure he's about to get hit in the face with something, skull or elbow or otherwise - but it'll work. ]
[ david has no care for his personal safety beyond making sure this doesn't happen. he throws his head back when he thinks he feels evan close enough to hit, pulls a knee up to try and give himself leverage to push up under him, buck evan off that way. ]

from there it's a lot easier to knot it and tie it more firmly, so david's forearms are locked together behind his back. he can tell this isn't what david was expecting and probably not what he wanted. but he came here of his own volition. asked for a favor. he'll get it - just in the way evan wants it. ]

he takes a silent opportunity to run his hand up along david's back, to the back of his neck, fingers very briefly catching hold there before letting go and stepping away from the bed to head for a crate nearby. he doesn't use this room much, but he does use it occasionally, and so there's always something he needs stashed nearby. not just the little container he finds, less well-sealed than it used to be. there's other things he needed to teach a lesson, in the past.
not these days. and not now. david's already learning, after all.
cautiously, so as not to get kicked directly in the dick, he gets onto the bed behind david, maneuvering them both to avoid falling off. manhandling him by the ropes, but only briefly. that much he can understand hating, at least. from there he's got a free hand on david again, taking the opportunity again to feel him out, as if he hasn't done it before already when there weren't ropes involved. like yet again he's still surprised someone would be here by choice. ]

[ david rolls his shoulders, wondering if maybe relaxing his arms might give a bit of leeway he can use to get loose, but evan's back before david can try it. the second he feels evan grab the rope, david's fighting again, trying to pull away even as evan moves them on the bed. ]
[ where he normally openly enjoys hands on him, doesn't hide the bit of pleasure he gets from evan's hands on his body, this time there's none of that. he lays there still, rigid. tense like he's waiting for the opportunity to spring up and attack. ]

he pauses. he wasn't planning on stopping, because he knows he can get david going easy. he's turned the anger into better things before. and yet here he is, reconsidering and not quite grasping why.
after a few seconds he shifts, gets david by the upper arm and shoves him over so he's on his back and he can see david's fury more clearly. david'll be able to see part of his face in the half-light, too, more edges than clarity. there's irritation there, but not just that. ]
